Since we spent the Fourth of July at the beach with my mom this year, I made her absolute favorite, Cherry Blackberry Pie.

I have been called. In the spirit of Anne Dimock's "Humble Pie" and the movie "Waitress," I have been called to walk the Path of 1,000 Pies (bake 1,000 pies or more in my lifetime). After returning to the US in 2009 from a 3-year stint in Austria without a proper oven, I started keeping track. On Easter 2010, I undertook the challenge to blog about it here.
